« Le seul véritable voyage n'est pas d'aller vers d'autres paysages,
mais d'avoir d'autres yeux, de voir l'univers avec les yeux d'un autre... »
Marcel Proust, A la recherche du temps perdu, 1923

The body as a landscape, the body in the landscape Bodyscapes is a photgraphic world, born from the eponymous series, dedicated to the intimate discovery of the male body. If everyone is unique, this journey to the heart of nudity of all bodies of all ages is an opportunity to realize how we are all likely to be moved and able to be challenged in our relationship to the body and to our own body, through the discovery of the body of the other... The series Bodyscape and [in Situ] are the backbone : Bodyscape, the founder series, reveals the male nudity through tight framings, which are as many windows on landscapes where power and fragility ... strength and softness ... tension and abandonment... make the male body become an area of endless expressions. This is a (photo)graphic survey , through a series of intimate pictures where the fragmented, decentralized, metamorphosed, cropped body approaches the limits of abstraction, focusing on the visual impact of a reduced depth of field ... By usinig upset scale reports, it reveals us through amazing landscapes how familiar or stranger can the body be, how surprising or even worrying, how unknown sometimes... In contrast, [in Situ] is a place of encounter between body and space, body and landscape. Each model has his own personnality, his own sensitivity... Each body reveals a part of beauty, tells us a story... Each universe stands an atmosphere that can be magnified or diverted... [in Situ] consists of series where the body of each model is staged and invites us to contemplation and meditation. It provides us a meeting ground between the narrative power of the picture and the perception of the viewer, about the story it tells us or the one it gives birth to, between erotic tension and poetic dimension. click here to see the BODYSCAPES gallery |

Exploring the visual impact of amplified perspectives, of shapes accentuated by the contrast between shadows and light and by telescoping plans,
the series Landscapes presents pictures from the scenary that surrounds us, assails us or leaves us indifferent. These unusual places challenge
us, as too popular or known places, however forgotten... places we encounter, we don't see anymore, we leave.. The main explorated registers in this photogrpahic universe are : large lanscapes, gardens, megalopolis, urban fringes, deserted areas, architectural topology... They leed us to various pathways, they are supports to our nostalgic dreaming or staring at an exacerbated contemporaneity, they are places for privileged meetings with evanescent and sustainable atmospheres, dated or not. Thus, look is brought beyond human scale and any human occupation. Man is willingly present in the scenes only by the imprint of his work, the result of his intervention... through the traces he leaves behind, whether they are sustainable and huge or transient and tiny. Also through the marks of his abandonment sometimes. click here to see the LANDSCAPES gallery |
